Have you ever wondered why there aren’t more famous female jewelry designer brands? That’s exactly what I kept asking myself. If all this beautiful bridge jewelry is being designed for women, and is usually purchased by women, why are the most famous designer brand names so often those of men? Don’t get me wrong: I love the work of David Yurman, John Hardy, Scott Kay, and Thomas Sabo … but where are the ladies?
I have been designing for the sterling and bridge jewelry market for many years and have longed to see more women-led representation there. The more I thought about it, the more I came to one simple conclusion: Why not ME?
That’s precisely why I want to bring Carol Koch Sterling into the spotlight. This is a brand for women, designed by a woman–someone who creates both elegant and versatile pieces. My line is durable yet not overly expensive, with the purity of sterling silver as the core of the collection (and never silver plating over base metal). These are pieces that women feel proud to wear. And they deserve to feel amazing.
Part of my mission statement is to empower other women. “All boats rise with the tide.” I am always seeking out women-owned businesses to collaborate with on marketing, manufacturing, material supplies, and retailing. I am passionate about supporting entrepreneurial women, whatever they do. How about you?
I want to clarify I have nothing against men. Some of my favorite humans are men. It’s great when we all work together. I just want to see more women being acknowledged for their contributions to the world.
Why not join me on this journey to create a brand that puts the focus on womankind? Tell me about other interesting women-owned businesses you like so that we can support them, too. Maybe you are a female entrepreneur yourself. Tell me why you chose that path and where you plan to go next. I want to know, and I want to support you, too.
